Shri Ram Lal Anand, an eminent lawyer of the
Supreme Court, laid the foundation of RLA College in
1964. Initially, the college functioned in Defence Colony and Green Park before moving to its present location at Benito Juarez Road, opposite Anand Niketan. In 1973, the college was taken over by the University of Delhi and it now functions as a
Delhi University maintained institution. It is a multi-faculty, co-educational college, having at present approximately 1350 students on its rolls in various courses.
Principal VK Sharma says:
“Some of the courses that we offer are still not very common like microbiology, geology and Hindi patrakarita. The College provide a balance of academics and co-curricular activities to students”

Ram Lal Anand College: Facilities
Sports and extra-curricular activities are big attraction of the college. The library receives almost all major research journals, magazines and other media materials in different areas of specialization. A new academic block and a hostel for girls are expected to come up soon.
