A PAN card is issued by Income Tax Department in the form of a laminated card. Permanent Account Number is the combination of ten-digit alphanumeric number. PAN is compulsory to quote PAN on return of income.

Requirements of documents/applications :
- A form 49 A correctly filled by the applicant. Incomplete form will be rejected.
- Affix a coloured photograph on Form 49A.(Stamp Size Photo : 3.5 cms x 2.5 cms)
- A document as proof of identity and address.
It takes around 15 days to get a new PAN deliver to the address mentioned in the application form of applicant. PAN can be obtained in 5 days also. Apply through internet to get tatkal PAN and pay fee through credit card.
