Shree Uttara Swami Malai Mandir popularly known as Malai Mandir among the localities is a place of great religious significance for Hindu community hailing from Southern India. Devotees come to this temple with all their wishes from different parts of the country. It's one of the oldest temples, where a number of different pujas are performed. Tourists will find Kalyana Utsavam, Prakara Utsavam, Abhishekam and much more. Apart from Indians, many foreign tourists to drop by to visit this enormous holy shrine.
This temple which is primarily dedicated to Lord Swaminatha more commonly known as Lord Murugan, most revered by the religious Hindus of Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam and the Kannada community in the city was built on 7th June 1973.

People in India receive the god as their savior and this holy perception of devotees has been reflected on the sign outside the main temple written in Tamil, proclaiming Lord Swaminatha's motto, "Yaamirukka Bayamain" meaning "Why fear when I am here?”
Built on top of the 90 feet high hillock at a cost of Rs. 14 lakhs, the temple of Lord Swaminatha Replicates the glory and grandeur of Chola style of South Indian temple architecture. This temple is a complete work of granite which draws inspiration from the medieval period of south Indian Architectural artwork. Besides the main Swaminatha Swami Temple, the complex contains temples dedicated to Sree Sundareswarar (father of Lord Swaminatha), Devi Meenakshi (mother of Lord Swaminatha) and Sree Karpaga Vinayagar(elder brother of Lord Swaminatha). These subsidiary temples draw imagination from the Pandya style of South Indian Temple Architecture, as it can be seen at the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
In the Hindu religion, the peacock is considered Lord Swaminatha's mount or vahana. This peacock can be seen and heard among the trees and foliage within the temple compound.
