Indraprastha College or (
IP College) is the
oldest women's college in Delhi;
established in 1924, it is
affiliated to University of Delhi. Today, it offers
Graduate and Post-graduate courses in
Liberal Arts, Commerce, Literature, Computer Science, and Mass Communication etc., and is amongst the prestigious colleges of India. It is located on Sham Nath Marg, 2 km. from Kashmiri Gate, Delhi.
Currently in its 85th year, the College has become synonymous with outstanding performances in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities. The College encourages the all-round development of its students with the aim of drawing out their potential and equips them to take on the world the best they can.
The College has an auditorium, seminar rooms and a state-of-the-art Conference room. It has excellent Sports Infrastructure with a swimming pool, vast playgrounds and a sprawling sports complex. The College also provides basic medical facilities to deal with minor emergencies. It has a Counselor as well as a Career Guidance and Placement Cell.
The College has two hostels, one funded by the UGC, accommodating 200 students and the newly constructed Indraprastha College Women’s Hostel with 166 seats.
