Eid Al Fitr: Meaning of Eid in InDia

Ramzan EId commonly knows EId, EId marks the end of the eve of Ramzan, in Ramzan Muslim fast entire day and eats only at night after prayer for about a month. With the new moon the EId is Celebrated with family and friends even the friend that are not Muslims are always are welcomed equally at there Muslim friends to enjoy the feast.

Apart from great feast to enjoy people also take the joy of wearing new cloths and visits the mosque to attend Salatul Id (EId prayers). Greetings like”EId-Mubarak" or "a blessed EId" are exchanged and not only blessing are given, help to poor or to the one that are in need are helped in term of money with open heart and joy, though earlier people used to help by giving away presents

The first EId of the year is known as "Eid Al Fitr". Al Fitr means breaking the fast. Eid Al Fitr is also celebrated as the first day of Shawaal, the tenth month in the Muslim calendar and the end of Ramzan, apart from fasting in Ramzan people also worship, read Quran, purifying one's behavior, giving charity and doing virtuous deeds. Ramzan is also a way of developing hunger to become familiar with the people who are poor or less fortunate.



Eid Al Fitr is a day of joy and thanksgiving. It is also a day of forgetting old grudges and ill feelings towards other fellow men and every one socialize.
