Yamaha Motors, the Father of the biking world has launched the new R15 motorcycle in India for a worth price of Rs.1.07 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The YZF-R15 version 2.0 is a 150cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke fuel injected bike and is available for booking from today across all Yamaha outlets in India.
The launch of the face-lifted Yamaha R15 is sure to take the already slick and sexy low-slung machine a grade higher among its ranks. Yamaha has installed new cosmetics which make the new R15 much attractive than the outgoing variant.
Dimensions of the new R15 are 1970 mm X 670 mm X 1070 mm (L X W X H). To tackle the bumpy Indian roads, Yamaha has installed hydraulic damping telescopic suspensions on the front while the rear features monoshock coil spring suspension. As seen in the earlier variant, this one too has front and rear disc brakes.
The all new R15 is not just what customers expected out of the bike, but a lot more. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, you don't have to worry about shooting off those traffic lights on this new and improved R15 speedster.
The R15 version 2.0 now has a truss structure that enables greater rigidity and better handling at turns. The model’s “low front, high tail” design allows bikers to feel comfortable in both sporty riding and everyday riding around town.
Technical specs of the new R15 Version 2.0 include, a single cylinder FI engine with a displacement capacity of 149.8 cc generating maximum power of 17 PS @ 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 15 Nm @ 7,500 rpm.
The bike weighs 136 kgs and is available in three new exciting shades, namely Racing Blue, Mignight Black and Sunset Red.
