Summer Camp:
The district badminton association on Monday summer badminton coaching camp for children aged between 10-15 years.
“It is an initiative not only to spread also to encourage children in the city to take to active sports during the summer vacation" said Anand khare, secretary of the Noida and Greater Noida district Badminton Association. Around 50 children are taking par in the camp. Two national-level coaches, who are also certified diploma holders from national institute of Sports, would train children.
“We have four badminton courts at the stadium and will take care that children get the best training here,” said khare. There will be two-hour training everyday and the camp would conclude on June30.
Children who excel in the sport at the camp will be sponsored by the district association to appear in state in state-level badminton Championships.
“We will groom the children to develop into good sportspersons,” said khare association would organize an inter-school badminton championship when the camp concludes. Schoolchildren from Delhi, Gautam Budh Nagar and Haryana will be eligible to participate.
Venue:
The camp was inaugurated by Lt Gen (Retd) V K Kapur at the sector 21A stadium Noida.
