Be it natural or artificial, there are scores of shampoos and conditioners available in the market. With so many options for the different kinds of hair, it is difficult to choose which shampoo would be best suited for your hair type. While there are no fixed rules as to which shampoo and conditioner one should use, there are certain parameters you should keep in mind, so as to make an informed decision. Here's presenting a small guide as to which shampoo and conditioner is best for your hair.

The right ingredients: Don't blindly go for a shampoo and conditioner because of what the advertisement on TV tells you. Always look at the ingredients that have been used in making that product.

For coarse and curly hair - If you have curly hair, you should opt for creamy and moisturising shampoos. It should contain Shea butter, germ oil and nut oil, so that your hair doesn't remain dry. Also, you should use an ultra conditioning moisturiser.

For fine and oily hair - Avoid creamy shampoos and conditioners. Choose a product with panthenol. It is an ingredient that improves the thickness of every strand of hair. Go for a mild conditioner. Spray conditioners can be great as they don't reach the scalp very easily.

For dry and damaged hair - It is advisable to choose creamy shampoos. Clear shampoos are not suitable for damaged and dry hair at all. Regular conditioning is required. An ultra-moisturising conditioner is just right for damaged and dry hair.

For processed hair - The biggest problem with processed hair is that the roots tend to be oily while the ends remain dry. Technically, you have to moisturise the ends and cleanse the shaft. In such cases it is advisable to wash your hair with an ordinary shampoo at least once in a day. Use a strong conditioner but do not apply the conditioner to the scalp area. You should never use conditioners that have silicone as this ingredient is known to cause damage to coloured hair.
