Samsung has announced three new smart phones in India, each with a different OS. The handsets are: Samsung Omnia W, Samsung Wave 3, and Samsung Galaxy Y.
The Samsung Omnia W should be available to Indian customers starting next month for 19,900 INR ($404). The new Omnia features a 3.7 inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 1.4GHz single-core processor, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, and 8GB of on-board memory.
Other features of it include a 5 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front facing camera for video calls. For connectivity, Samsung Omnia W has Bluetooth v 2.1, USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Features like Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Proximity, Magnetometer, Gyroscope. The smartphone has HSPA+">HSPA, EDGE, GPRS capability for faster web browsing as well. The Li-on 1,500 mAh battery in the smartphone ensures a decent talktime.
The Wave 3 comes as Samsung’s new Bada flagship, and should also be released in India next month (for 19,600 INR). The phone features a 4 inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, TouchWiz UI, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1.4GHz processor, and 3GB of internal memory.
Other features of this smartphone include A-GPS/Glonass, 1500 mAh Li-on battery, HSPA, EDGE and GPRS capability. Wave 3 has also Accelometer, Compass, Proximity and Light sensors.
And at last Samsung Galaxy Y is an affordable smartphone that runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and will cost only 7,800 INR ($159). The Galaxy Y comes with a 3 inch QVGA display, TouchWiz UI, HSPDA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 2MP camera, and an 823MHz processor.
This 3G phone has WiFi and Bluetooth capability as well. There is a 2 megapixel front facing camera as well. Other features include A-GPS, 1200 mAh battery, 3.5 mm jack, 32 GB external memory, USB 2.0, and FM radio.
