Akshay Kumar, Trisha Krishnan starrer Khatta Meetha opened to a mixed response in the Friday morning box office. Notably, some places record great numbers but some other centers recorded below par numbers. Especially, metro multiplexes were generally week.
However, the movie has done well in some centers up north like Rajasthan, Punjab, UP and Haryana. On its opening day (Friday), the movie has done a net business of approximately Rs 650 million across India. Khatta Meetha opened to about 25 - 30 per cent in the metros while it opened to around 60 - 65 per cent in B and C centers. The weak show at multiplex has another thing to blame, the presence of the International blockbuster Inception and Bollywood releases Tere Bin Laden and Udaan. Tere Bin Laden and Udaan kept the steady collections throughout the week 1. This means both are going to be profitable for the makers.
