Google India has launched an exclusive initiative to enable small and medium business (SMBs) to get online with a free website, personalized domain and hosting.
The initiative is named “India Get Your Business Online”, which ends the barriers that stop small business from getting online – by offering a quick, easy and free tool to set up and host a website.
To further capitalize the initiative, Google India has collaborated with website hosting company HostGator, ICICI Bank and the Federation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME).
In order to avail this service, SMBs can stream to www.indiagetonline.in use the tool to get a get a free, easy-to-build website and web hosting for one year. After completion of one year, web portal owners will have to pay a charge depending on the services they opt for if they wish to renew their domain name.
Commenting on the initiative, Google Senior Vice-President and Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora, said that, they recognize India as a high-growth and high-potential internet market and they were committed to play the role of a catalyst to bring the benefits of the internet economy to SMBs in India.
