A
French manicure is a style of polishing the nails wherein white paint is applied to the tips of the fingernails, and the rest of the nails are given a pink coat or painted with sheer polish that is colored either pale pink or very light beige. The French manicure is very good for short nails and nails that have a moderate length.
Steps
- Clean underneath the fingernails by scrubbing gently with the nail brush. Clip the nails to an even length and file them into a rounded or square shape with the nail file.
- Cover the tips of the fingernails with an even coat of the white nail polish. The area of the nail above the tip should be completely coated. The white tips do not need to be even. Allow the nail polish to dry completely.
- Pour a small amount of nail polish remover into the bowl. Take a small, rounded makeup brush and dip it into the remover. Use the brush to clean the area beneath the white tip, removing any white polish that has extended onto the nail. Run the brush in a half-circular motion to form an even semicircle. Repeat until all the nail tips have been shaped.
- Seal the French tip manicure by painting the nail with the clear nail polish. Allow the polish to dry completely before moving your hands.
To extend the life of your French manicure and to keep your nails nice and looking well-groomed, you should make it a point to apply an extra layer of top coat on your nails every night.
