Past all forms, cutoffs and teachers' protest, freshers in Delhi University are set to step into a new life as colleges open for the new session on Wednesday. Students are ready with dresses and so is the matching bag. The hair has been done with the right footwear adding to style quotient. Freshers also expect to see teachers in the college though they are not sure if their anti-semester protest is over yet.
Earlier, teachers in many colleges dissociated themselves from the admissions to protest against the introduction of semesters in undergraduate courses. Though Delhi University Teachers' Association has not yet given any word on the status of their protests, principals assure that the first day of students will not go waste.
Now freshers need not worry about ragging at all DU official said. While all colleges are expected to have their anti-ragging squads doing rounds along with the police, complaint boxes and contact numbers in case of trouble will be displayed on the notice boards. In case, any student faces ragging, he should immediately get in touch with the principal or contact the joint control room at 27667221 for north campus or 24119832 for south campus by deputy dean Gurpreet Singh Taneja.
