DMRC places orders for 40 more coaches

It’s good news for Delhi people that Crowded Delhi Metro trains will soon placed an order for 40 more coaches, all of which will be used to increase the size of existing trains from four-coach to six- coach.
DMRC planning to introduce six-coach trains by December this year to ease the crowd pressure. For this, two orders of 40 and 74 new coaches have been placed taking the total number of broad gauge coaches for Phase II to 538. On Friday, DMRC placed an order for 40 new coaches, which was bagged by Bombardier Transportation.

These new coaches will be manufactured at Bombardier’s Savli site.
