The Madhya Pradesh government Thursday honoured veteran actor Dev Anand with the 14th Rastriya Kishore Kumar Samman on the occasion of the 25th death anniversary of the late singer-actor, a minister said.
An amount of Rs. two lakh, an honour plaque, shawl and shriphal was given as part of the award. Sharma said that Dev Anand is a doyen of in film world and the MP government is proud by honouring him.
After receiving the award, Dev Anand said he had given Kishore Kumar first chance to sing a song in his film. He felt overwhelmed after getting an honour in his name.
The 88-year-old has also been honoured with Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
The evergreen hero,gave Indian cinema some greart movies like, including "Johnny Mera Naam", "Guide", "Jewal Thief" and "Hare Rama Hare Krishna".
Apart from acting, he has produced memorable films including Hum Ek Hain, Vidya, Ziddi, Afsar, Bazi, Jaal, Taxi Driver, Insaniyat, Bambai ka Babu, Jali Note, Kala Bazaar, Kala Paani, Munim Ji, CID, Hum Dono, Tere Ghar ke Samne, Asli Naqli, Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Johnny Mera Naam, Guide, Jewal Thief, Tere Mere Sapne, Prem Pujari, Hare Rama Hare Krishna and recently released film charge sheet.
