Delhi CultureDelhi as of today is multi-cultural with religious unity. As it is the capital of India, people from different corners of the country come here for education or jobs. Different people here practice different culture and that is the core value of Delhi culture.

Delhi is also known for rich political culture. It is the centre stage of Indian politics. The parliament is in Delhi. Hence, one can find hues of politics all over.



Religion has always played an important role in Delhi. One can see people following Bengalis Durga Puja, Chhath Puja of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, Gurbani of Punjabs, Sunday masses in Churches, festivals of South India etc.

Though the Punjabis dominate Delhi but one may find regional colonies in several parts of Delhi such as R.K. Puram is famous for South Indians and C.R. Park for Bengalis.

One can find Indo-Persian art in Jama Masjid, where as Chattarpur Temple and Birla Temple exude amalgamations of North and South Indian architectural styles. Lotus Temple exudes Bahai way of worship and the Tibetan Monastery represents the Tibetan culture in India.

Delhi culture also compromises of art and paintings. This is part of Delhi tradition since Mughal period. Embroidery of Delhi is also famous throughout the world.

Handicraft melas and fairs are very common in Delhi which depicts the rich culture of the city. There are lots of shops and emporiums that sell handicraft items. Delhi Haat (open mall) is very famous for handicraft shopping.
