Incredible Delhi completes its 100 years as capital of incredible India today, the year 2011 and our very own beautiful Delhi every year gave 100s of
reason to celebrate and to be proud of being a Delhites (person living in Delhi) and more over to be proud of being an Indian.
In the year 1911, on 12th December Delhi was made the capital of India before that Calcutta (Kolkata) was the capital of India but was changed back under the British raj, all though Delhi was capital of India back in 12th to 19th the century. Delhi as capital witnessed rise and fall of some great rulers and emperor.
The political and cultural seat of many empires over the centuries, Delhi added another chapter to its glorious history as India’s capital. And also diverse cultural elements absorbed into the daily life of the city have enriched its character and hence making it a fascinating and rewarding experience to
exploring the city.
There are several
tourist attractions in the city without which Delhi is not complete. From Red fort, Lotus Temple and Chandni Chowk to Modern art Gallery, Purana Quila and many more markets ,
tempels and monuments, Delhi boasts of an infinite range of touristy places, which all are well in reach with the help of metro and also Delhi Busses.
Delhi is also famous for its culture, tradition and effervescent history.
Apart from ancient art Delhi is also filled with modern and contemporary ideas and art which will certainly make its place in history. For past many years Delhi gave rise to many emerging artist, and hence city has quite often witness greatest artist at various events in Delhi. And also on the ocassion of 100 years of Delsi as capitral city will witness the artistic story of Delhi.
Since 100 years Delhi has grown into India's largest metropolis. Its population has risen from 233,000 in 1911 to over 20 million today, including the suburbs of Gurgaon and Noida. It is a cosmopolitan city where one would find people from all parts of India. Delhi is the third largest city in India and now the most preferred city in terms of investments, industrialization, Information Technology, Healthcare, Real Estate, etc. and still is moving forward.
